Tree Surgery

If you have a tree that requires surgery we have a team of qualified tree surgeons working in the Edinburgh area. We take on all specialised tree work. We can reduce the height or width of the tree or remove the tree altogether. Stumps can be treated to dissolve over time or simply be ground out. We can tend or remove trees of any shape or size from any position or area. If you have a tree that is blocking light, reducing space or is just an eye sore, get in touch. You can read some of our customer reviews on Google. See below for tree terminology.

Crown reduction

Reduces the overall size of the tree but importantly, maintains the natural shape.

Crown lift

The removal of lower branches around the base of the tree or up to a natural line. This will result in good definition and enhancement of the visual appearance of the upper crown.

Crown thin

The removal of certain branches in order to reduce the density of the crown. This will also aid light enhancement throughout the tree.

Pollard

The process of removing all branches within the tree to leave a bare frame. The shape of the tree will be maintained. This effectively results in the control of rapid growth.

Epicormic growth

Epicormic growth refers to shoots growing from  buds around the base of the trunk. These are cut and removed to produce a clean and defined look.

Dead wooding

The task of removing dead branches or limbs within the tree. The removal of dead wood results in a tree that is healthy and safe.

Felling

The removal of the entire tree. This is achieved by dismantling the tree in a controlled manner using trained climbers and specialised cutting equipment.

Stump grinding

The process of removing the tree stump from the ground. The stump can be reduced to as much as 10 inches below ground level. Once completed the area can be used to plant, turf or landscape.

To ensure your tree doesn’t have a TPO (Tree Preservation Order) you are advised to check the CEC interactive map HERE for your peace of mind.
